Force for Good?

The Navy is running a highly polished ad on TV these days that sends the message that it is a "Great Force for Good" around the globe.  WTF?

Mark Udall is on the Armed Forces Committee.

He should be inundated with  calls objecting to the Navy spending tax dollars to preen itself if front of the  "American People" and to let the American People walk in a continuous "fog of war"   Hmmmm, I seem to remember the USNavy taking out an Iranian Passenger Jet over the Gulf about ten years ago.  "Oooops!" is all we said.  The whales are committing suicide cause of sonar tests in the Pacific.  Dolphins are trained to take the hit rather than Navy Seals dealing with underwater ordinance.  I guess they get posthumous medals.

Call Mark Udall and Protest this and other military advertising today!!

This kind of institutional advertising presents the image of our Armed Forces as being deployed in the interests of humanitarianism and freedom when it is deployed in the national interest and thus fits the militarists agenda of having unregulated budgetary access to get what it wants to project the US in violent ways around the globe.
And we taxpayers get to pay to have our minds F*#Ked and our brains addled while schools teach a bowdlerized version of American History that supports the false idol of American exceptionalism.   And we are forced to tighten our belt in non-"national Security" budgets while the Navy and Army and AirForce and etc get to dump our money into PR to keep our "servicemen" from shooting themselves when they get PTSD for facing up to what they are asked to do in being a "Force for Good"
